Fiscal years
Define the accounting periods that finance reporting is organised around.
A fiscal year is an accounting period for the school's finances. It is separate from the academic year — a fiscal year can start in any month and is what financial reporting is grouped by.
Who this is for
Administrators managing the school's finance periods.
Create a fiscal year

| End date | Yes | The last day of the accounting period. |

Activate a fiscal year
One fiscal year is the active one — the period current financial activity is attributed to. From the Fiscal Years list, use Activate on the year you want to make current; the platform asks you to confirm. You can also deactivate the active year.
Fiscal year vs academic year
The academic year organises classes, terms, and enrollments. The fiscal year organises accounting. They do not have to line up — keep them separate.
