Getting startedBuild the academic foundation

Create levels

Define the grade or year levels that organise your school's academic hierarchy.

A level represents a grade or year of study — for example Grade 1, Year 7, or Première année. Levels are the backbone of your academic structure: classes are attached to levels, and students are enrolled into a class at a given level.

Who this is for

Administrators building the core academic hierarchy for an academic year.

Before you start

  • An academic year must already exist and be selected in the year switcher at the top of the screen. Every level you create belongs to that year.
  • Plan your full list of levels first (for example Grade 1 through Grade 6) so the ordering and codes stay consistent.
The Levels page lists every level in the selected academic year.

From the admin sidebar, go to Academic → Levels. Make sure the academic year shown in the top switcher is the one you want to build.
