Change a temporary password
Set your own password the first time you sign in with temporary credentials.
When the school creates an account for you, it comes with a temporary password. The first time you sign in, you are required to replace it with one only you know.
Who this is for
New users signing in for the first time with credentials issued by the school.
Before you start
- The temporary password given to you by the school — see Create portal accounts.
Steps
Sign in with the temporary password
Sign in as usual with your email or username and the temporary password. Because the password is temporary, you are sent straight to the change-password screen — you cannot skip it.
Enter the passwords
Fill in three fields:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Old password | The temporary password you just used. |
| New password | A new password only you know. It must meet the strength requirement. |
| Confirm password | The new password again — both must match. |
Save
Choose Save. For security, you are signed out so the change takes effect.
Sign in again
Return to the sign-in page and sign in with your new password. From now on, that is the password you use.
This step cannot be skipped
Until the temporary password is replaced, every sign-in returns to this screen. You can sign out instead of changing it, but you will not reach your dashboard.
