Bulk create portal accounts
Create logins for everyone in a role in one background job.
When a school is first set up, dozens or hundreds of people need a login at once. Bulk create makes portal accounts for an entire role in a single action — it runs as a background job so you can keep working while it processes.

Steps
Open the Pending portal accounts list
Go to Users (under Settings in the sidebar), then the Pending portal tab, and pick the role to process — teacher, student, parent, or staff.
Start "Create all pending portal accounts"
Choose Create all pending portal accounts. A dialog lets you set two options:
| Option | Notes |
|---|---|
| Only eligible | When on, people who cannot receive an account yet are skipped instead of failing. Recommended. |
| Max items | Optional cap on how many accounts to create in this run. Leave empty for no limit. |
Let the job run
The job processes in the background. A progress card shows how many of the total have been handled, with a status of Queued, Running, Completed, Failed, or Cancelled.
Review the result
When the job finishes, a banner reports how many accounts succeeded, failed, and were skipped. If any failed, use Retry failed to attempt those again.
Skipped vs failed
Skipped usually means the person already has an account — that is expected and safe. Failed means something went wrong for that person; retry or create their account individually.
