Notifications
Choose what the platform alerts you about and how you receive each alert.
Notifications keep you up to date when something happens — a new announcement, an upcoming event, a graded assignment, a payment due. You control what you're notified about and how each alert reaches you.
Who this is for
Everyone. Each person manages their own notification settings.
How you can be notified
Each kind of notification can reach you through one or more channels:
| Channel | What it is |
|---|---|
| In-app | The notifications list (the bell) inside the app. |
| Sent to your email address. | |
| Web push | A pop-up from your browser, even when the app isn't open. |
What you can be notified about
You'll only see the categories that apply to your role. Common categories:
| Category | Notifies you about |
|---|---|
| Announcements | A new announcement published to you. |
| Events | A new event, or a reminder before one starts. |
| Assignments & grades | New assignments, deadlines, graded work, and published exam results. |
| Payments | New invoices, payments due, and confirmed payments. |
| Timetable | Schedule changes — a new timetable, room changes, teacher substitutions, exam schedules. |
| Transport | Vehicle document expiries (for administrators). |
| Reminders | System reminders, such as an academic or fiscal year nearing its end. |
Change your notification settings
Open your notification settings
Go to your Notification settings (in your profile or settings area).
Turn categories on or off
For each category, turn notifications on or off. Turn off the ones you don't want to hear about.
Choose how you're notified
For the categories you keep on, choose which channels to use — in-app, email, web push, or a combination. Save your changes.
Muting a chat is separate
Notification settings control the platform's alerts. To silence one specific conversation, mute it from within the chat instead — see Chat and messaging.
Common use cases
- Email for important things only — keep payments and announcements on email, everything else in-app.
- Quiet in-app only — turn off email and web push, and check the bell when you're in the app.
- Stay on top of grades — keep assignments & grades on with web push so you're alerted right away.
