Use the global search
Jump to any page and find records fast with the global search.
The global search is the fastest way to move around the platform. It opens from anywhere and does two things at once: it navigates you to pages, and it finds records such as students, teachers, and classes.
Who this is for
Everyone — global search works for every role.
Open the search
- Press Ctrl K (⌘ K on Mac) from anywhere, or
- Click the search bar in the top navigation.
What you can find
The results are split into two kinds:
| Result type | What it does | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Pages | Jumps straight to a screen in the app — e.g. Students, Timetable, Fees. | Everyone |
| Resources | Finds actual records by name — students, teachers, classes, and more — grouped by type. | Administrators |
Resource results show an icon or photo, the record's name, and a short subtitle so you can tell similar records apart. When a type has more matches than shown, the group notes how many more there are.

Type what you are looking for
Start typing — at least two characters for resource results. Matching pages appear immediately; resources appear a moment later as they are looked up.
Move through the results
Use the ↑ and ↓ arrow keys to move between results.
Open a result
Press Enter (or click) to go to the selected page or record. Press Esc to close the search without leaving the page.
Tip
Resource results follow the selected academic year. If you cannot find a record, check that the right year is selected in the year switcher.
